Woori Yallock Farm School

Some students began the day with cleaning up the nursery, contributing to the unit Support Nursery Work.  While others loaded up the trailer with scrap metal to be taken to the local waste transfer station for recycling; relating to the unit Maintain the Workplace.

Next, we visited ECOSS, a local Community Environment park, to check in on a previously planted revegetation site. The students checked the health of the plants and removed weeds, contributing to the unit Support Ecological Restoration.

Later in the day we visited McMahons Creek where we delved into the topic of ‘gold’. The students visited a riverbed and tried their luck at finding gold. Unfortunately, no actual gold was found, but the students did find some fake gold that had been planted by the teachers.
