Student Clubs and Social Events

Yarra Hills Secondary College offers a variety of additional activities or interest groups for students across both campuses. This includes several clubs that take part in activities outside of regular school class times.

Current Clubs/Groups:

Mooroolbark Campus Clubs

At Mooroolbark Campus student are invited to join clubs  throughout the year.  Clubs provide student with the opportunity to try new activities, meet new staff and socialise with their peers outside the classroom.

Animal Club 

Animal Club is open to ALL students.  Students come in before school, recess & lunchtime and help feed & handle our animals in the Science area of C-Building.

Students clean enclosures and ensure they have enough food & water and the enclosures are safe.

We have the following animals:

  • Snakes (x2)
  • Blue Tongue lizards
  • Bearded Dragon
  • Turtles,
  • Tree-frogs,
  • Fish and there are more animals and enclosures coming!  

Homework Club 

All students are invited to attend and they should come  to Homework Club with work to complete.  Students will get support from teachers on things they need help with (e.g. Maths or English)to complete the tasks they bring with them.  

Homework Club also supports the catch up of work if a student has been absent from school.

Drinks and biscuits are provided and Homework Club runs on a Monday from 3:15-pm to 4.00pm in C11/C12.

 

Other clubs that do run when there is interest:

  • Knitting Club 
  • Lego Club
  • Coding Club 
  • A Range of SRC Lunchtime Activities (e.g. Staff vs Students Dodge-ball, Year Level Soccer matches)
  • Remote Control Car Club

Mount Evelyn Campus Clubs

  Clubs provide student with the opportunity to try new activities, meet new staff and socialise with their peers outside the classroom. At Mount Evelyn Campus student are invited to join clubs  throughout the year.

Animal Club 

Animal Club is open to ALL students.  Students come in before school, recess & lunchtime and help feed & handle our animals in the Science Building.
