Firstly, let me say how proud I feel to be a part of the Yarra Hills Secondary College community. One of the fundamentals of sharing in the education of our young adults is the partnership between parents, students, the school and the wider community.
The old adage “it takes a village to raise a child” is possibly more important today than it has ever been. At Yarra Hills we value the continued connection with our families and you will find that those that have been a part of our community are in fact our strongest advocates.
As a multi-campus College, we have some distinct characteristics that I believe make it an ideal environment for educating our young adults. With a junior campus of Year 7 – 12 level at Mt Evelyn and a Mooroolbark Campus that comprises a Junior School (7 -10) precinct and a Senior School (11/12) precinct on the one site, we have not only a small school feel but the big school opportunities that arise from having these groups combine to complete their senior studies.
Our teaching staff are dedicated to, and truly get to know, each of our students. Through this, we have a great capacity to identify the individual strengths and challenges that all children exhibit and then work with them. Our ability to work to support and/or extend our students is renowned in the eastern region, with our students being in a great position to achieve a pathway that is in line with their own dreams, talents and aspirations.
I welcome you to the Yarra Hills Secondary College community.
