Values Immersion Program

At Yarra Hills Secondary College, the commitment we have towards guiding our students to develop sense of social responsibility stems from our highly successful ‘Values Immersion Program’.

The program, which commenced in 2014, strengthens the partnership between our students, teachers and parents through a series of engaging seminars, presentations and activities. The aim of this program is to deliver our core values in a meaningful and purposeful way, which can be translated across a variety of environments students may come across – including both in and outside of classrooms, their homes and their community.

In Year 7 and 8, all students participate in our’ hands-on’ Student Seminar, involving a series of both humorous and reflective videos, written activities and games. In conjunction with this, each year we invite our Year 7 and Year 8 parents to the school, for our engaging Parent Seminar which delivers targeted strategies to our parents to assist their children to demonstrate our core values at home. Catch cries of ‘Respect, Endeavour, Achievement and Pride’ are often heard as you walk past our classrooms – accompanied with behaviours that reflect these values.
